Way back on March 30th, I shot my first session after giving birth to Margaret. Ben was the perfect newborn to shoot with for my first day back on the job. He was so sweet and patient for us throughout our 2 hours together. I’m thrilled to share some of my favorites from his in-home newborn session. Ben’s family is a familiar one to me, as we all grew up in the same small town and same small church. And one thing that I KNOW will always accompany our shooting time together is handmade gowns and blankets by Ben’s grandmother! It is such a treat to be able to use these handmade items and know that the images and pieces will certainly turn in to family heirlooms. These pieces lend themselves to automatically make your images unique to your family. If I could nudge you to consider one thing for your newborn, it would be more heirloom looking pieces! They are a classic that will never, ever trend out!
Another favorite from this shoot was the Lockhart’s beautifully renovated home and Ben’s precious nursery. Everything was so well thought out and personalized to fit their personality. Of course if I’ve been in your home, then you know that I have the ability to find your smallest corner to shove myself in for a shot. It never fails!
And finally, it was sweet Ben and big sister, Caroline, that were the very best thing about this session. They were so cuddly with each other and were up for anything I’d suggest. When big siblings are on board, you know the session is going well! Congratulations to this precious family and their adorable new addition, Ben!
