Annie’s Newborn Portraits At Home

Happy Friday! I’m thrilled to share this precious family session with you and to introduce their baby girl, Annie. Of course, if you asked her big brother, Houston, her name is Dot! Annie’s mom told me the cutest story about Houston while we were in her home. Houston prayed last January that he’d have a baby sister and that her name would be Dot. Mind you, this was before Liz was pregnant! Needless to say, Annie was referred to as Dot during our entire shoot. In fact, Houston recently prayed for snow and guess what Birmingham woke up to yesterday?! I think Houston’s got a special phone line to God!

Their gorgeously renovated home in Homewood was the perfect backdrop for our newborn shoot. Annie was adorn in soft pinks that complimented her skin beautifully. She was calm, she loved being held, and she took a bottle and paci like a champ. Her very excited brother talked with her between shots and I even got a few cuddled is. Each time I step foot into a new family’s home, I’m grateful for their trust in me and happy to be documenting their first days at home with their newborn. It’s a sacred time and I know how overwhelming it can all feel with a newborn. That’s the beauty of an in home newborn session…no need to leave your cozy home. And if you think you’ve missed the boat for newborn portraits because your baby is more than 2 weeks old…think again! Please don’t worry about these “rules”. There is no wrong or late time to have your baby’s photograph taken. This time with baby should be celebrated, no matter the age!

Welcome to the world, Annie! You were prayed for and are surely loved.
