The moment I get an email about maternity portraits, I get very excited! The last few weeks of pregnancy should absolutely be celebrated and documented. These portraits are not only keepsakes for you and your partner, but your children as well. Can’t you just see siblings gathered together, sifting through old photographs and discovering their parents’s maternity session? Family portraits, no matter when or where they start, are a gift to a family for generations.
I met Lindsay and Ryan in downtown Birmingham and we hit up a few of their favorite spots. The rotary trail served as a lovely background for a mix of green and urban. Football season had just started, so the city was practically ours to enjoy. Welcome to the South! Since Lindsay wanted the downtown look for her maternity portraits, I decided we just had to grab a few rooftops shots. The way Ryan and Lindsay look at each other…love it! And let’s not miss the “big brother” bandana on their precious pooch. He even posed for a few shots that he wasn’t necessarily suppose to be in. Our last stop was in their beautiful apartment at The Pizitz building. To say that I could’ve shot all day long in their place would not be an exaggeration! I am SO excited to come back in the coming weeks for newborn portraits. Be on the lookout for the debut of their sweet baby boy.
If you’re on the fence about booking a maternity shoot, please let this session push you over the edge! Celebrate that 3rd trimester, celebrate your pregnancy, and document it all. Congratulations to Lindsay and Ryan! Make sure you follow along with me on social media to see the latest sessions, including more from this family soon!
