The moment I stepped foot into the Santiago family home, I knew our shoot was going to be special. Their stunning home is full of character, beautiful design choices, and just the right mix of lived-in classics with a maximalist twist. In other words, endlessly inspiring and a treat to photograph.
But, let’s not lose focus. Our main subject was their brand new baby boy, Oscar. We planned to shoot his newborn portraits when he was about 6 weeks old. One of the perks of him being an “older” baby is that he was happy to show us some smiles and show off those beautiful eyes. The best moments were him looking up fondly at his mama and daddy. After some awake time and admiring his big brother, Oscar settled down during our shoot with a little snack and nap. Let’s face it, that sounds like the perfect way to wrap up your big moment in front of the camera.
Oscar’s newborn shoot ended up being one of my favorites; I’m sure it’s not hard to guess why.
